The presidential election of 1960 - JFK versus Richard Nixon - was the closest contest of the 20th Century. So, what if Nixon had won? Would there have been a Watergate scandal? The Kennedy assassination? Would we try to land on the moon without JFK's push for space exploration? Campaign 20/20 lets you discover new realities, where Ronald Reagan rises to the presidency in 1968, Al Gore edges out George W. Bush in 2000 and lesser-known candidates, such as Sargent Shriver, rise to prominence.
It's single-player, turn-based strategy. You select an election and one of the two major party candidates, then dive in. Every day leading up to the election, you fly to any of eight regions and conduct rallies and fundraisers. The goal is to sway states to your side. Fundraisers raise campaign funds. Rallies cost campaign funds, but bring in supporters.
At the end of each turn, your AI-opponent campaigns, then you earn rewards for flipping states and gaining ground. Sometimes scandals hit, causing you or your opponent to regroup.
Debate minigames let you go head-to-head with your opponent for a bump in the polls. Pop quizzes allow you to earn funds if you can identify states or presidential quotes.
When the results are in, you might change history. Move on to the next election and continue your journey into the presidential landscape.
